ShadePlex products are based on patent-pending and proprietary processes that create durable bonds between thin-film, flexible solar material and architectural fabrics. They are engineered for use in a variety of applications, including parking shade canopies for cars and electric vehicles, enclosed/clearspan structures, commercial roofs, and military & emergency relief tents.

The typical airport, hotel, mall, school or office building has hundreds if not thousands of open, unshaded parking spaces, which means shade structures using PV-FlexMount can easily support typical commercial power loads in addition to providing shade, UV resistance, and protection from the elements.

PV-FlexMount offers several key advantages:

	Lock-in competitive electricity rates. PV-FlexMount allows commercial customers to get a competitive rate for electricity that meets or beats their current utility price, and locks-in that rate for 20+ years (or the lifespan the PV system).
	Generate more clean electricity. PV-FlexMount produces up to 10% more electricity than most other solar panels. That’s because the active solar technology converts light into electricity on cloudy days as well as sunny days.
	Lightweight and flexible. PV-FlexMount is 3 to 5 times lighter and thinner than rigid glass and metal framed solar panels. Weight and load requirements for shade structures rule out the use of traditional rigid solar panels. Not only is this conducive to new PV design ideas, but it significantly reduces the cost of shipping to the building site.
	Colors. PV-FlexMount is the first solar panel to come in a wide variety of attractive colors for expanded design options for high power solar projects. Customers can now have a literally "green" solar array using green fabric-framed solar panels – many other colors are also available.
	Versatility. Unlike other solar panels, PV-FlexMount is not dependent on orientation to the sun. It produces electricity equally well whether at an angle or lying flat. In addition to shade canopies, it can be used on flat commercial roofs without the use of glues, resins or roof penetrations, and on sports/event dome roofs, and military or emergency relief tents.
	Fast, easy installation and removability. Because PV-FlexMount is both a fabric and a solar panel, it eliminates the need for a base canopy fabric in new installations. Using standard extruded rails or racks, PV-FlexMount can be installed quickly and easily to form a full shade structure with color, flow, and an active solar area. To retrofit existing base canopy fabrics, PV-FlexMount can be installed using standard hot air welding techniques. For both shade structures and flat roof projects, PV-FlexMount can be quickly and easily removed to access the fabric structure or underlying roof membrane when repairs or servicing is needed.
